This is the last post in our Easter Gift Basket Series, the fourth of four. If you haven’t already done so, read Part 1 here, Part 2 here and Part 3 here. Today I will show you how to make the gorgeous little felted Easter Eggs. I have left the cutest, easiest and just all round best craft till last. I absolutely love these little Eggs! I could make them all day long!!!!! I could also go on about how much I love them but I’ll spare you that 4 hour read and just get straight to the tutorial shall I? (more…)
Do you recall back in August last year I wrote about birthday cakes that we wanted as a child? For me the ultimate cake was a Dolly Varden cake, I always thought they were just so magical and beautiful! Well guess what?? I finally got the opportunity to make one J I was asked by a customer to make a Frozen themed cake for his daughter’s birthday and of course her favorite character is Elsa. So, the obvious choice for me was an Elsa Dolly Varden cake. I spent a lot of time and energy on the Frozen Elsa Doll Birthday Cake, as the little Birthday girl Miss V is such a sweet little girl. The birthday girl loved it so all the time and effort was worth it! I was pretty impressed with how well it turned out.
The start of the New Year brings with it New Year Resolutions. That list of things that we should have done last year, or the year before that, or the one before that… Year after year, the lists seems to be the same, except for a few additions. In the past I, like many others, made resolutions and given up on upholding them as resolutions before the end of January. Mine are usually rather generic; Look after myself better, lose weight and be a kinder person. All very vague and lack any real thought or effort. This year, I’ll be doing something a little different. I am going to stay on track with a New Year Resolution Planner. I have put one together and I have shared it below for you for FREE.
I hope you and your loved ones had a fantastic Christmas yesterday. I have been melting in the Queensland, Australian heat! I sure was dreaming of a white Christmas. But alas Santa didn’t make it snow in Brisbane this year 🙁
There isn’t much time after Christmas for recovering before New Years Eve rolls around. If you are hosting a New Years Eve party you only have a few days to take down all the Christmas decorations and dress the house in glitz and glam already to welcome in the New Year. Today I will show you a really easy and simple craft perfect for your New Years Eve celebrations.
A couple of weeks ago I shared with you my about my experience in paper crafts and my first card making party with Kaszazz. I received my Kaszazz order of Christmas card making supplies and I got stuck right in to making my cards and tags. I promised you that I would show you some of the Christmas card ideas that I came up with and just because you are so awesome, I am sharing them with you.
“Christmas time is here
Happiness and cheer
Fun for all that children call
Their favourite time of the year…”
The stores have had Christmas decorations out for months and the Christmas carols have been playing in the malls for weeks. It is all pointing to the tell tale sign that Christmas is just a few short weeks away! To be honest with you I couldn’t be happier, I LOVE Christmas!!! I just love spending time with family, feasting on all the yummy food and giving gifts to my loved ones. I love giving gifts to loved ones so much so, that I am usually already finished by the end of October and there is nothing left for me to do for weeks; fyi that is a bad thing, I like preparing for Christmas. Although, I do have a rule that in our house decorations don’t go up until the 1st of December. It is SO hard to wait until then, I am such a child. This year however, I broke that rule. I know, how naughty of me. Tisk, tisk, tisk! But, it was for a great reason! For the past few years, I have wanted to make a Christmas wreath. This year I finally got around to making one, thanks to you; well, I needed something for you to read. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I literally stood at the door for at least a full 5 mins looking at it, just marvelling at how well it turned out! There was just no way that this masterpiece wasn’t going up as soon as it was finished!
In the past, I had lightly dabbled in paper crafts such as scrapbooking and card making. I had once attempted a horrible excuse of a scrapbook. It was so bad that just the shear memory of it makes me shudder in shame! I have had a lot more success with card making; some of them were quite great (if I do say so myself) and some of them not so much, although I don’t think any of them were as bad as the scrapbook. Argh, that scrapbook.
As you may already know from my post here and from following me on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, I have been taking part in the Photo-a-day Challenge set out by the amazing Mikala at The Makers’ Collective. The challenge ran for all of October and 1 bonus day in November.
There isn’t much of a history of celebrating Halloween in Australia, however the Halloween fever is slowly spreading to this side of the pond. It has come a long way since it’s early UK heritage, these days the young children celebrating it wouldn’t be able to imagine the origins of their favorite sugar filled holiday.
When it comes to Halloween, there are two groups of people. There are those that love it and those that loath it. I suppose there is a third group of people; those that really just don’t care. Mr Hubby is in the last group but I do suspect that my yearly insistence on celebrating Halloween may cause him to learn to loath it, or if I’m lucky he may even learn to love it. Hey, a girl can dream can’t she?
YAY!!!! It is finally here!!!!! The LONG awaited tutorial on how to applique on a towel.
If you have read my earlier posts; this one and this one, you will know that I love giving personalised appliqued towels to the gorgeous little ones in my life. This cute little towel is for the gorgeous little Miss S for her first birthday. Her lovely Mum, Mrs V has decorated Miss S’s bedroom with pretty little butterflies everywhere, how could I pass up the opportunity to do a butterfly theme for her towel.
