How to make a Christmas Garland and Card Display

Christmas Garland and Card Display by #EclecticHandmadeCreations

Last week was all about Christmas Cards. They are a great way of creating something unique and special for someone that you care about. They don’t take much time, they aren’t expensive to make, and they can look so amazing. I love that Christmas time is an excuse to go old school and post letters and cards. It is so exciting to receive cards in the mail, or really anything other than bills! But what do you do with all those amazing cards, how do you showcase the works of art that your family and friends have made or picked out especially for you? They create such a Christmasy feel and provide beautiful decoration. However, they can be quite difficult to display; the slightest of breezes blows them over, they may not even like to stand on their own, hanging them over the traditional piece of string only helps protect them from a slight breeze, anything stronger and the whole lot come floating down. Today I am going to show you a beautiful way of displaying all your Christmas cards; A Christmas Garland and Card Display. It displays all your Christmas cards and it even looks great without cards so it doesn’t matter if you don’t receive any physical cards, perhaps your family and friends have so completely embraced the digital age and don’t get excited about mail as I do :-).

How to make an Easy Christmas Wreath

Christmas Wreath by Eclectic Handmade Creations

“Christmas time is here
Happiness and cheer
Fun for all that children call
Their favourite time of the year…”

The stores have had Christmas decorations out for months and the Christmas carols have been playing in the malls for weeks. It is all pointing to the tell tale sign that Christmas is just a few short weeks away! To be honest with you I couldn’t be happier, I LOVE Christmas!!! I just love spending time with family, feasting on all the yummy food and giving gifts to my loved ones. I love giving gifts to loved ones so much so, that I am usually already finished by the end of October and there is nothing left for me to do for weeks; fyi that is a bad thing, I like preparing for Christmas. Although, I do have a rule that in our house decorations don’t go up until the 1st of December. It is SO hard to wait until then, I am such a child. This year however, I broke that rule. I know, how naughty of me. Tisk, tisk, tisk! But, it was for a great reason! For the past few years, I have wanted to make a Christmas wreath. This year I finally got around to making one, thanks to you; well, I needed something for you to read. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I literally stood at the door for at least a full 5 mins looking at it, just marvelling at how well it turned out! There was just no way that this masterpiece wasn’t going up as soon as it was finished!

Ladies Crafternoon ~ Kaszazz Make and Take Demo Party

Cards made at the Eclectic Handmade Creations' Ladies Crafternoon

In the past, I had lightly dabbled in paper crafts such as scrapbooking and card making. I had once attempted a horrible excuse of a scrapbook. It was so bad that just the shear memory of it makes me shudder in shame! I have had a lot more success with card making; some of them were quite great (if I do say so myself) and some of them not so much, although I don’t think any of them were as bad as the scrapbook. Argh, that scrapbook.

How to Make a Ruffled Buttercream Frosting Cake

A few weeks ago, it was my beautiful friend Mrs V’s birthday. Her amazing husband planned a fabulous day of girly activities for us ladies to celebrate her special day. We had a lovely lunch at a local cafe, followed by shopping, pedicures and all ending in a relaxing Sunday afternoon session of canapés, cocktails, and of course CAKE! Knowing how much Mrs V loves my cakes her husband asked if I could whip one up just for her and of course, I obliged, it was after all for the beautiful Mrs V!

Halloween Decorations

Nothing quite puts you in the mood for a holiday or a party, quite like decorations. Having spooky bats, wicked witches and ghastly ghosts flying around the house may delight or frighten you. Perhaps bubbling cauldrons and eerie giant spider webs adorning the walls will do the trick. Or maybe black cats stalking around corners and horrifying web coated dead trees would be for you. Or perhaps just simple Jack-O-Lanterns is more your speed.

Halloween Party Ideas

There isn’t much of a history of celebrating Halloween in Australia, however the Halloween fever is slowly spreading to this side of the pond. It has come a long way since it’s early UK heritage, these days the young children celebrating it wouldn’t be able to imagine the origins of their favorite sugar filled holiday.

When it comes to Halloween, there are two groups of people. There are those that love it and those that loath it. I suppose there is a third group of people; those that really just don’t care. Mr Hubby is in the last group but I do suspect that my yearly insistence on celebrating Halloween may cause him to learn to loath it, or if I’m lucky he may even learn to love it. Hey, a girl can dream can’t she?
