Red roses, boxes of chocolates, heart shaped cards and romantic gestures. All heart melting things that let us know that it is coming up to Valentine’s Day. I know that Valentine’s Day is traditionally meant for singles and new couples but as a not-so-old married woman, I can’t helped be swept up by all the…
Red & Pink
…and you thought I was going to say LOVE 🙂
After finally taking down my Christmas Garland my hallway wall just looked too bare, so I decided to make a lovely romantic Valentine’s Day garland to decorate our home in celebration of the holiday of LOVE! (more…)
Last week, I showed you how to make a Memory Catcher and in that project I used a rustic style white frame. I looked everywhere for the perfect frame and I couldn’t find what I was after. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until after I made the Memory Catcher that I found this frame. So I made my own! I didn’t make the actual frame (I did not have time to do that) but I gave a simple cheap black plastic frame into my perfect frame! Guess what? It was SO easy to do and because I am totally awesome and I love you all so much, I am going to tell you how I did it! Get ready to do your own picture frame makeover.
Last week, I wrote about New Year’s Resolutions and shared with you some of my more crafty/creative ones and how I was planning on keeping on track with them this year. I mentioned that I also had a selection of personal resolutions, there is one in particular that I have put a lot of thought into and wanted to share with you; Savoring the positive memories of 2015 to assist in being a more positive person and to help me really live in the moment. I thought that this might not be a resolution that not only I had, perhaps my tools to help me do this might help you too.
I hope you and your loved ones had a fantastic Christmas yesterday. I have been melting in the Queensland, Australian heat! I sure was dreaming of a white Christmas. But alas Santa didn’t make it snow in Brisbane this year 🙁
There isn’t much time after Christmas for recovering before New Years Eve rolls around. If you are hosting a New Years Eve party you only have a few days to take down all the Christmas decorations and dress the house in glitz and glam already to welcome in the New Year. Today I will show you a really easy and simple craft perfect for your New Years Eve celebrations.
It is literately only days until Christmas. Six to be exact. That means that you have six days to get those last minute gifts, finish the decorating and six whole days to do Christmas crafts 🙂
I have been keeping an eye out for some really quick and easy crafts that you can do as last minute Christmas gifts or decorations. Here are my favorite 12, that is 2 per day 🙂
Last week was all about Christmas Cards. They are a great way of creating something unique and special for someone that you care about. They don’t take much time, they aren’t expensive to make, and they can look so amazing. I love that Christmas time is an excuse to go old school and post letters and cards. It is so exciting to receive cards in the mail, or really anything other than bills! But what do you do with all those amazing cards, how do you showcase the works of art that your family and friends have made or picked out especially for you? They create such a Christmasy feel and provide beautiful decoration. However, they can be quite difficult to display; the slightest of breezes blows them over, they may not even like to stand on their own, hanging them over the traditional piece of string only helps protect them from a slight breeze, anything stronger and the whole lot come floating down. Today I am going to show you a beautiful way of displaying all your Christmas cards; A Christmas Garland and Card Display. It displays all your Christmas cards and it even looks great without cards so it doesn’t matter if you don’t receive any physical cards, perhaps your family and friends have so completely embraced the digital age and don’t get excited about mail as I do :-).
A couple of weeks ago I shared with you my about my experience in paper crafts and my first card making party with Kaszazz. I received my Kaszazz order of Christmas card making supplies and I got stuck right in to making my cards and tags. I promised you that I would show you some of the Christmas card ideas that I came up with and just because you are so awesome, I am sharing them with you.
“Christmas time is here
Happiness and cheer
Fun for all that children call
Their favourite time of the year…”
The stores have had Christmas decorations out for months and the Christmas carols have been playing in the malls for weeks. It is all pointing to the tell tale sign that Christmas is just a few short weeks away! To be honest with you I couldn’t be happier, I LOVE Christmas!!! I just love spending time with family, feasting on all the yummy food and giving gifts to my loved ones. I love giving gifts to loved ones so much so, that I am usually already finished by the end of October and there is nothing left for me to do for weeks; fyi that is a bad thing, I like preparing for Christmas. Although, I do have a rule that in our house decorations don’t go up until the 1st of December. It is SO hard to wait until then, I am such a child. This year however, I broke that rule. I know, how naughty of me. Tisk, tisk, tisk! But, it was for a great reason! For the past few years, I have wanted to make a Christmas wreath. This year I finally got around to making one, thanks to you; well, I needed something for you to read. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I literally stood at the door for at least a full 5 mins looking at it, just marvelling at how well it turned out! There was just no way that this masterpiece wasn’t going up as soon as it was finished!
In the past, I had lightly dabbled in paper crafts such as scrapbooking and card making. I had once attempted a horrible excuse of a scrapbook. It was so bad that just the shear memory of it makes me shudder in shame! I have had a lot more success with card making; some of them were quite great (if I do say so myself) and some of them not so much, although I don’t think any of them were as bad as the scrapbook. Argh, that scrapbook.
There is nothing quite like walking into a massive hall, filled to the brim with supplies, tools and experts in the field of your favourite pass time. As I entered the Sydney Exhibition Centre, surrounded by other excited attendees all there to learn, share and shop I couldn’t help but smile with glee like an over excited little girl. And then again 2 months later when I entered the Exhibition Park in Canberra I wasn’t any less excited. This year I was lucky enough to not only experience my first visit to a craft fair but to experience my second too.
