The start of the New Year brings with it New Year Resolutions. That list of things that we should have done last year, or the year before that, or the one before that… Year after year, the lists seems to be the same, except for a few additions. In the past I, like many others, made resolutions and given up on upholding them as resolutions before the end of January. Mine are usually rather generic; Look after myself better, lose weight and be a kinder person. All very vague and lack any real thought or effort. This year, I’ll be doing something a little different. I am going to stay on track with a New Year Resolution Planner. I have put one together and I have shared it below for you for FREE.
This year I will define actual things/actions/projects that I want to complete by the end of 2015. This list will include projects that I want to complete and blog posts that I want to share with you all and things I want to do to develop Eclectic Handmade Creations. I guess it would be less like a list of resolutions and more like to do list. I like to do lists, or more precisely, I like crossing things off to do lists.
My to do list for this year will include;
- Home DIYs
- Guest Bedroom
- Back Deck
- Linen closet
- Furniture Revamps
- Rocking chair
- Chest of Drawers
- Kids play table
- Lap quilt
- Cushions for Lounge
- Cushions for Rocking Chair
- Charity work
- Give always
- Eclectic Handmade Creations
- Make platform changes to the website
- Organise crafting, sewing etc supplies
The above are just a few of the things for my To Do List, I don’t want to give away all of my secrets and surprises, there are a lot more. I have broken my list into 5 categories and I have stuck to a max of 4 tasks per category. Some of the tasks seem rather overwhelming, so I like to break them down into steps. As an example the Furniture Revamp task – Rocking Chair has a number of steps like; deconstruct chair, sand back varnish, paint parts in primer, light sand, reconstruct chair, paint first coat of topcoat, light sand, paint final topcoat.
I can’t keep track of all of this in my head and writing all this out on a piece of scrap paper isn’t particularly motivating nor is it easy to read or keep track of. So I did what I like to do; create something pretty! I developed a to do list sheet, I have one for each category listed above and a sixth one for personal goals.
I thought I would share this Free New Year Resolution Planner with you encase it could help you too.
